Brabham Automotive is pleased to confirm that David Brabham and Will Powell will form its Pro-Am driver line-up as the iconic marque returns to sports car racing for the Britcar ‘Into The Night’ race at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on November 9-10. Participation in this challenging two-hour race is the first step on Brabham’s road to Le Mans, and a showcase of the BT62’s competitive potential. David Brabham, Brabham Automotive’s Sporting Director returns to the cockpit to debut the Brabham BT62, following in his father’s footsteps by racing a car of his own construction. David brings a wealth of experience to the company’s Motorsport and Driver Development programmes. He is a former Formula 1 driver for Brabham and Simtek, and a multiple 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, including an outright win for Peugeot in 2009. Brabham Going Le Mans

Brabham Automotive is delighted to confirm the brand will return to international sports car racing and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Adelaide-based automotive manufacturer, which last year launched the record-breaking BT62 track car, is announcing its road to Le Mans. It has committed to a factory racing team and a multi-year motorsport programme with development work already under way. The team’s target is the 24 Hours of Le Mans and World Endurance Championship season in 2021/22, where it intends to enter the GTE class. Fans will be able to follow the journey as it’s shared openly on social media under the hashtag #brabhamroadtolemans. Taking the road back to Le Mans has always been a desire of Brabham Automotive but can today be confirmed for the first time. The entry will be run and funded in-house by Brabham Automotive and commercial partners and sponsors. Just two weeks ahead of its global unveiling, Brabham Automotive has released headline figures for the Brabham BT62, along with a photograph which gives a glimpse of its first car. The teaser image shows the rear of a low-slung, race-inspired car. The BT62’s thin LED accent tail lights are reflected in its extreme carbon fibre rear wing, which points to the car’s performance potential. With performance characteristics that point to the potency of the car, the new Brabham is pure-bred for the track and capable of setting blistering lap times, designed and engineered to demand more from the driver and reward the limited few who will rise to its challenge. The BT62 boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 730ps per tonne, a dry weight of just 972kg and is powered by a Brabham naturally-aspirated 5.4 litre capacity V8 engine.
